Ecumenical Awareness Committee
The Ecumenical Awareness Committee is a New Committee under the Worship Commission. Its purpose is to promote the spirit of ecumenism and interfaith awareness in the parish.
What is ecumenism? According to the Decree on Ecumenism (Unitatis Redintegratio), ecumenism is the pursuit of unity among all Christian believers in various concrete ways. Interfaith is exploring have different religious relate to the Catholic Church.
The Committee is currently studying the following Church Documents:
Decree on Ecumenism (Unitatis Redintegratio)
Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms on Ecumenism
Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions (Nostra Aetate)
In the near future the parish will be presented with their plan for introducing Ecumenism and Inter-religious dialogue to the parish.
